Border land(2017)
Two years after I took the photographs for my book “Station” in Vienna, I visited the border town between Hungary and Serbia.
Sweating profusely, I have peddled an almost broken rented bicycle to the ruins of a gate on the Balkan route
I wanted to see where they walked passing through the gate, and the rural landscape where the people on the other side.
I wanted to see both.
I could only stay for a short time. The bike I borrowed after looking for a while had a broken saddle. The border is far away and I could not get close.I felt the rural landscape was not so rich. But it was very beautiful. The sun-burned sunflower fields stretched on and on, and only a short, young one stared at the sun and stood alone.
Today is The World Refugee Day.
